Itinerary

Trek Schdule: 

Day 1: Reporting Manali. (1800m).
Reporting – Orientation & Briefing of the trek – Trek Preparation & window shopping
(Sufficient time would be given for visiting market and nearby places).

Day 2: Manali- Kaza (3686M) – 10-11 hrs

Day 3: Kaza Acclimatization

Day 4: Kaza- Kibber- Acclimatization hike

Day 5: Kaza- Kibber Kanamo Base camp- 4-5 hrs.

Day 6: Kanamo summit (6310m/20700ft) .

Day 7: Reserve day for summit – Kibber.

Day 8: Kibber to Manali.

Kanamo Peak is located in the Spiti valley of Himachal Pradesh. It is moderate level of trekking with sheer weather conditions and terrain.
You have to meet our representatives at Manali. Here on you will be taken to further programs/ accommodations.
The Kanamo Peak lies in the remote Spiti valley, where one can approach only in the summers. So one can do this trek between July to October.
Kanamo Peak is a moderate to strenous level trekking with challenging weather conditions, terrain and the altitude to acclimatize. This trek needs prior trekking experience as it attains 5974m height.
Kanamo Peak trek is an arduous trek that those who have done previous trekking or climbing above 4000m can do this trek. This trek demands absolute physical fitness to negotiate sheer inclines to narrow trails. Good physical fitness is necessary for this difficult trek.
For this trek one has to be prepared physically and mentally. Running everyday playing outdoors sports like football, hockey and basketball will help one get the stamina and strength which will be required later on the trek. This preparedness will start just a month before coming for a trek. Along with it mental preparedness is also necessary. One has to leave all his discomforts way before the trekking commences. Having positive approach toward things would too help staying delightfully with total strangers out in the trek. Healthy mind is always helpful on such off track routines to co operate and understand peoples waiting for you to serve.
You have to carry 10-12 kg’s of weight. It depends on your requirements and capacity that how much clothing, dry fruits or readymade edible things you carry.

The weather is unpredictable on this trek, temperatures varying -5to -15 degrees at nights and in the daytime there is considerable variation of temperature in direct sun and shade. So be prepared to avoid any distress by opting right clothing.
The decent trekking shoes with waterproof, good gripping soles will be perfect for this trek. Avoid bringing sports shoes because it will not grip on extreme terrains. You have to buy any trekking shoe a week before to get comfortable with the fittings and not getting any kind of blisters or sores while on the trek. Buy high ankle support shoes that will help trekking on the slants. Buy one size larger than your regular size so you will feel comfortable after wearing multiple socks during the cold.
Yes we rent trekking shoes, Feather jackets and backpack (50ltrs.)If anyone wants to rent a thing he/she can ask our officials while booking the trek.
Yes, you can hire a porter or a mule to offload backpack. But you have to intimate us 10-15 days before the trek. We will arrange porter or mule accordingly and it will cost you 1000/-rupees per day and weight should not exceed above 12 kg’s.
Yes, the girls are safe with us on this trek. We had run prior treks consisting of men and women successfully. To ensure female safety and security we choose our staff carefully who are reliable, responsible and will escort girls and the group till the end of the trek with honesty. We generally make a point that only female trekkers would share the tent with other female. Only thing is advisable to take care of your belongings and try to trek along the group.
The group size for this trek starts from 5 persons to 20 persons with men and women.
Mountain water is natural source of drinking water and is full of minerals. Thousands of people living in the mountains rely on the water coming down from the glaciers. One can drink water directly from the streams en route while trekking or one can ask guide or instructors, from where they can fill water. If someone is unsure one can carry chlorine tablets along with them. But we recommend this water for drinking as it makes acclimatization faster.
Nutritious vegetarian food is provided during the trek. You will be having breakfast, lunch evening snacks and dinner. Vegetarian food is easy to digest and is healthy at high altitudes. In addition to it coffee and hot drinks soups will also be served.
The group will be lead by the professional instructors, guides and local staff. These people are well qualified and have ample knowledge and experience to ensure safety and security of the group. The staff is cooperative and helpful whenever needed. So be humble and respectful tois cooperative and helpful whenever needed. So be humble and respectful to the staff, and then one will enjoy the trek in decent manner.
The average trekking distance is about 10-12km per day which will take 5-7 hours a day. Enjoy trekking on route don’t get discouraged.
You will find mobile network only in Kaza after it there is no reception found or is inconsistent. So make all your urgent calls before leaving for the trek.
Yes, you can carry medicines. It is good to carry some basic medicines to avoid chances of sickness on high altitude trekking. For this we have list of some medicines written below: Crepe bandage (3-5 m), Band aid (10 strips), cotton (1 roll), ORS (4-5pk), Volini spray, providine, Crocin tablets, Avomine, Combiflam, Disprin, Digene, Spasimonil, Diamox, anti-diarrhea tablets, Electoral.
You will be lodged in hotel/camps at Kaza and KIbber after it you will be provided 3 men 4 men tents shared by same genders.
There will be sustainable toilets at each campsite with deep pit inside to answer natures call and a mound of soil to cover the organic waste. Always refrain yourself using wet wipes as these things are non degradable. Use only tissue papers for sanitary purposes.
No, we have certified instructors who have wealth of experience working in the hinterland and ample knowledge of giving wilderness first aid. We carry all the necessary medications, portal oxygen, oxymeter to refrain any distress to the group members.
Yes, you can customize the trek to your convenience. You can choose any trek options, time and no. of people to participate. The cost for customized trip or trek would be fixed on the basis of group size, trekking area, duration and trek style
No, alcohol is strictly not allowed during the trek, if someone is found drunk or with alcohol He/she would be immediately disqualified from the trek.
In any case of any emergency our staff is skilled and trained for such situations held at high altitude. Our team has a wealth of experience dealing with high altitude sicknesses and urgent situations. We carry first aid kit and oxygen cylinders with us and in any emergency we rescue the trekker till the road head. After reaching road any additional cost of evacuation is borne by the trekker. All and all it is trekkers’ responsibility to get a certified medical fitness document before coming for the trek, which certifies that the trekker is fit for the trek.
