Region: Lahoul and Spiti Valley   Total Duration – 5 Nights / 6 Days  Maximum Altitude – 4950 m./ 16240 ft.   Grade – Moderate to Difficult.   Best Season – June  to October   Accommodation – Hotel/Guesthouse; Organized Campsite   Food – On trek – All meals included.   Distance – 45 km.   Chandratal Baralacha La Trek Chandra Tal, literally translated to the ‘Lake of the Moon’, is a glacial lake located between the Rohtang and Kunzam passes at an altitude of 14,100ft (4300m). It is a full day’s drive from Manali and trekkers have to bring their own gear and provisions from Manali, as there are no habitations along the way. The scenic trek from Chandra Tal to Bara lacha la Pass is lesser-known and relatively easy. The first night’s camp will be on the shores of the lake. With 4 km. circumference, the lake is much bigger and deeper than what it appears to be. The trek on the first day is about 20 km, following the Chandra River upstream. Trekkers are bestowed with the site of the huge riverine island known as Samudra Tapu, which becomes one massive block of ice in winters. Night camp is near the Topko Gongma River. Second day begins by fording the ice-cold stream at 7:00 am. The early start is to reach the next, much bigger stream (Topko Yongma) by noon as later on it gets too tough to cross with the glacial melt. Camp is on a bluff overlooking the river at a height of 15,500ft (4724m). Third day’s trek is gentle and much more enjoyable. Navigate through panoramic pastures, and stop by in between to admire and photograph the stunning beauty of the Bara-lacha la glacier on your left (west side). This glacier is the source of the Chandra River. Finally, after six hours of a fulfilling trek, reach the Bara-lacha la Pass at 4950m/16240ft. The pass is situated in between along the Leh-Manali highway and you can always catch a vehicle from here back to Manali. A bonus will be the wildlife sightings that include Marmots, Pica, Horned larks, Lammergeier (Bearded vulture), Wagtails, Black redstart bird, Sand lark, Snow pigeons and Choughs.   Things to Pack: Rucksack, cotton clothes, good trekking shoes, a warm jacket,warmer, woollen or monkey cap covering head and ears, UV rays protected sunglasses, raincoat, extra socks, water bottle, torch, cold cream, sunscreen, toilet soap, towel,Walking Stick and medicines that you usually use.

Brighu Lake Trek The Bhrigu lake a magical place in the lap of Mighty Himalayas, located at 4240m. lies in the east of the Rohtang pass. It is one of the most frequented treks of Manali. It is decent route for those with less or without experience of trekking. This trek takes you through forests to high pastures and offers ultimate scenes of the Kullu Manali Valley. The lake is also meant to be spiritual and holy to the locals and is worshipped by the pilgrims on special occasions. The lake is named after Maharishi Bhrigu. It is an ancient saying that the sage used to mediate near the lake for years. Hence it has been rendered sacred due to the locals believe that this lake never freezes completely.   The trek starts from Gulaba about 15 kms far from Manali. It is located around 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) far from Gulaba village. It can be reached by trekking either from the Vashishth temple, which is famous for its hot water springs, close to the town of Manali or from Gulaba village. Actually there is no settlement in Gulaba and is an area of the Pir Panjal mountain range. The trail to the lake takes one through dense forests of Deodar Oak and is truly fulfilling. As climbing higher the landscape changes into vast and the great valley of Kullu Manali is in front. Ascending the mountain could be a challenge yet the reward of being at camp is promising. Snow capped mountains all around with stunning natural atmosphere is always eye catching. Reaching up to the camp takes some pleasant hours. The camp at Raoli Kholi offers best evening colours and the magical nights with stars glazing better than any place. The next day commence towards our prime destination Bhrigu Lake. The trail is not so demanding but long enough to tire someone. Climbing over mountain ridges brings again the spectacular scenic beauties that one cannot escape by looking at it. The lake is situated at such height that most of the mighty peaks of the valley are visible. The peaks such as Hanuman Tibba, Manali Peak, Friendship Peak, Ladhakhi Peak and Priyadarshini Range with Pir Panjal range. The Lake is not so big in dimensions but deep and alluring in the lap of huge rocky mountains. Spending some of the quality time at this place would bring tranquility and pleasure to someone came from the busy urban life. Returning back from downhill is always a challenge however being careful and conscious about the situation will help someone descend fine. The trail should be walked and enjoyed well, only then one will feel satisfied by himself being at the mountains. The camp would be reached by the evening. Enjoy the sunset painting colors in the sky while having a hot cup of tea. Next morning capture the beauty around on the way and head back to the roadhead by the same route. Drive back to Manali and depart to your destinations.

Bada Bhangal Trek Bada Bhangal trek is a shepherds trail from Kullu to Kangra Valley, frequently used by the shepherds even today. It was the nearest approach to the adjoining valleys through dangerous passes and terrains.  Bada Bhangal trek is the most adventurous, strenuous, far -stretched trek in the Kullu Manali valley, which stretches from Manali to the far Kangra valley. The trek hikes up from 2050m to near 5000m passing through one of the most challenging routes of all treks done in the region. As this trek is arduous and difficult, one should have enough trekking experience in the Himalayas. This trek is not for the neophytes because the terrain encountered en route comes with sheer steep inclines, vertical descends, extensive scree, never ending moraine patches and vast glaciers. The altitude gained through the trek is considerable of 5000m. There are multiple mountains, streams, passes to cross through the whole trek, which creates a varying effect of altitude levels and atmosphere. Climbing sheer ascends offer wonderful vistas of endless Himalayan ranges and peaks like Indrasan, Deo Tibba, Hanuman Tibba and descending down gives a perfect view of high altitude meadows valleys below. It is not only hardships are found in this trek there are mesmerizing moments of passing lush green valleys and meadows of colorful wild flowers, trails through the dense forests, gushing torrents and varied species of Himalayan birds and animals. The trek starts from Loma Dugh which is 4-5 hours far from Manali. The trail is moderate till Lomadugh then turns sheer climb till Riyali Thach. Then from Riyali Thach the trail goes to the Kalihani Base. It is most difficult route with tricky glacier terrain to negotiate. One needs to be careful walking on the glacier that it can be slippery and fatal. Then we will cross the pass and descend down a vertical section of snow and glaciers to the Donku Thach. After Donku Thach the trail slants along the Kalihani river then enters into the wild forests till Dev ki Marhi. From this point the forest accompanies with wild flora and fauna until we reach our next campsite at Dal Marhi. Next morning we will head towards our first encounter with the civilization after days of climbing at Bada Bhangal. Bada Bhangal is the only big village in this correlated region. Further we will reach Marh then another challenging pass to cross the Thamsar pass. Negotiating the Thamsar pass will reach us at the last part of the trek at Plachak. Next morning trek the easiest routes of the whole trek to Billing through beautiful forests. How To Reach Manali Distance by road:- Manali is well connected to Delhi. Take an overnight bus from Delhi and you will reach Manali in 12 ‐ 14 hours(approx 540 KMS). Tickets can be booked online at www.redbus.in or www.hrtc.gov.in Tip : Since Delhi Manali is a long journey most Volvo private buses leave Delhi between 5 pm and 6 pm. The last govt bus leaves at 8.30 pm from ISBT Kashmere Gate. Volvo buses charge between Rs.1,000 to 1,400 per sector from Delhi to Manali and vice versa. Manali to Delhi: Like the onward journey, buses leave from Manali to Delhi between 4 and 5 p.m. Your tentative arrival at Delhi may be anywhere between 6 a.m and 10 a.m. Plan your onward journeys only post noon giving enough buffer for bus delay. Nearest Railway Station:- Nearest Railway station is Ambala (350 kms) and Chandigarh (310 kms). Tip: Regular Volvo and Buses are available from Chandigarh to Manali in the evening. Volvo buses charge between Rs.800 to Rs.1,200 per sector from Chandigarh to Manali and vice versa. Nearest Airport :- Nearest Airport is Bhuntar is 60 Kms. ​Bhuntar, which is 52 km away from Manali, is the nearest airport. Taxi services are available from Bhuntar to Manali, which costs about Rs.1000‐ Rs.2,000. Bhuntar is well connected to Delhi by air. The airliners that take you to this Airport are Indian Airlines, Kingfisher airlines, MDLR Airlines and Jagson Airlines, operating flights from Delhi and Chandigarh to Kullu.

Region: Kullu and Mandi  Total Duration – 1 Nights / 2 Days  Maximum Altitude – 2730 m.  Grade – Easy.  Best Season – December to April  Accommodation – Hotel/Guesthouse; Organized Campsite  Food – On trek – All meals included  Distance – 15 KM.   Prashar Lake Trek The Prashar Lake lies 49 km north of Mandi, in the Kullu Valley, Himachal Pradesh. As the name suggests it is believed that the sage Prashar meditated and spent years of tranquility near the Lake. There is a three storied ancient Pagoda structured temple located just on the edge of the Holy Lake. The carvings performed on wooden structure are marvelous. The vista at the lake is serene surrounded by incredible landscape and the vast sky above. The Lake water looks completely blue and on a sunny day magnificent reflections of the surroundings can be seen. Another interesting fact about Prashar Lake is a miniature island set in the middle of the lake which keeps moving and changes its position throughout the year. The lake is surrounded by small hills, so one can climb on any slope but most of the people climb up the highest ridge located on the left side of the lake. One has to walk more than 500 meters to reach the top and can have the glimpse of far stretched mountain ranges, Lake, temple and the mighty Himalayan peaks. Shoes, leather belt and purse etc. are not allowed into the main temple compound. You can go around the lake and do a Parikrama (Circumambulation). A festival is held in the vicinity of the Lake in the month of June each year. People gather from all neighboring villages and co-relating valleys. The lake is fed by small and nearby mountain streams mainly flown by heavy snowfalls and rains. The trek starts from Bagi village, a 7.5 km trekking route. The trek is mostly uphill and one has to pass through the dense forest. The walk throughout the trek is picturesque because of the long pine trees and beautiful hills. During winters the Lake and its surroundings are fully enclosed with snow offering a magical site. One can do this trek throughout the year but the best time to do the trek is pre-monsoon and post monsoon seasons.   How to Reach Baghi: Travel by Flight One can take the fastest route via Flying from Delhi to Dharamshala in just an hour. From here one can take taxi or travel by local transport to Baghi in Mandi district in 5 hours. There are several buses departing towards Mandi and is about 160km. drive on blissfully paved roads. Travel by Train There are several trains charting from Delhi railway stations such as Jan Shatabdi express, Himachal express departing at Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station. It is better to choose the train charting towards Una in Himachal Pradesh and it will take about 8 hours to reach. Travel by Bus One can travel by Volvo bus from Delhi to Mandi in 10 hours and then take a local bus for 50kms., run by Himachal Road Transport Corporation to Baghi. It is about 455km. far drive on mixed roads of rough and smooth.

Multiple theories have been told and retold time and again but a pair of teeth, bones and slippers tell you stories that no Wikipedia can. Roopkund; is a religious glacial lake nestled in the high mountains of our Mighty Himalayas in Uttarkhand. This one is listed in the top 10 high altitude treks to be done by every experienced adventurist. The lake is surrounded by snow clad mountains and remains covered in snow for the whole winter. Roopkund Trek gives one an opportunity to witness the high altitude 7000 mts; Mt. Trishul & Mt. Nanda Devi and also beautiful 6000 mts, peaks of Mt. Nanda Ghunti, Nilkantha and Maikkoli Peak. Things To Pack:- Trekking Shoes: You need good trekking shoes with good grip & ankle support. Do not carry sport shoes. Clothing: You need to have warm clothes with three-layer jackets, fleece or down feather jacket. Carry 1 or 2 full sleeves t-shirt. For lowers carry cotton pants suitable for trek. Do no carry jeans or shorts for trekking. Thermals: Carry top and bottom thermals. Socks: Carry 2 - 3 pair of sports socks along with woolen socks to be worn at night. Headlamp/Led Torch are mandatory Sunglasses: To protect from sunlight in snow you require UV rays protected sunglasses Woolen Cap and Gloves are also necessary as the climate will be cold. Carry waterproof gloves as they get wet in snow. Lunchbox & Water bottle: Every participant should carry lunch box and water bottle of their own. Mount Satopanth is located in Garhwal Himalaya region of Uttarakhand. Mt. Satopanth gets respected position among the passionate trekkers for technically moderate trail and a complex glacial approach.  It is the second highest mountain in the Gangotri group in Uttarakhand and is found in the remote India Garhwal Himalayan Range. It makes a convincing plan to the passionate mountaineers, willing to make the conversion from trekking peaks to climbing peaks and experience the high alpine environment at 7,000m. Zigzag paths passing over the sharp edges lead to an incredibly beautiful and remote area where you will be blessed with the close views of Bhagirathi II and Gangotri Glacier.  The en-route is a complex glacier approach, high angled snow slopes before the final section to the summit. At just over 7,000m, the effect of high altitude is a significant factor, as is the remote location and possibility of extreme weather. Mt. Satopanth serves as a good introduction to technical climbing, with climbers being familier to the use of crampons, fixed ropes and jumar climbing. The jaw dropping views of Thalay Sagar, Shivling and the terrifying granite pillars of Bhagirathi III are the delights of this expedition.  En-route you see the views which you will love to relish in later years. Your Base Camp at Vasuki Tal will let you stretch your arms on the cozy lap of Nature, while your further walk to the next Base Camp will be challenging and will give you gusto to carry on. Prior to the summit bid we will camp at three more sites and spending around three weeks of time we will be back home carrying exceptional trekking memories.
