It goes through the most prosperous apple orchards and lush green forests of Himachal Pradesh to a decent heightening pass. The trek is known after its major river Pabbar, with numerous tributary streams flowing down to the lower inhabitation. Chandernahan Lake is the origin of the Pabbar river and is believed that the lake is the abode Goddess Kali, who is considered to be the guardian of people living in the co related valley. The trek is also famous for trout fishing and multiple tourist sites. This offbeat trek starts from Theog and heads toward Pabbar valley giving one glimpses of breathtaking mountain ranges especially Chansal mountain range. En route one will pass several attractive grasslands of pasture to a beautiful Chandernahan glacial lakes site. The Chandernahan lakes are surrounded by the massive mountain ranges capped with snow. The natural beauty of sparkling lakes, splashing torrents and mesmerizing landscapes are the one of impressive aspects of the Pabbar valley trek. The trek remains open from May to October and reaches the altitude above 13000ft. It is a great trek indulging into the region which is very less frequented by the tourists, rich in culture and the full of ancient temples. Region: Lahoul and Spiti Valley   Total Duration – 5 Nights / 6 Days  Maximum Altitude – 4950 m./ 16240 ft.   Grade – Moderate to Difficult.   Best Season – June  to October   Accommodation – Hotel/Guesthouse; Organized Campsite   Food – On trek – All meals included.   Distance – 45 km.   Chandratal Baralacha La Trek Chandra Tal, literally translated to the ‘Lake of the Moon’, is a glacial lake located between the Rohtang and Kunzam passes at an altitude of 14,100ft (4300m). It is a full day’s drive from Manali and trekkers have to bring their own gear and provisions from Manali, as there are no habitations along the way. The scenic trek from Chandra Tal to Bara lacha la Pass is lesser-known and relatively easy. The first night’s camp will be on the shores of the lake. With 4 km. circumference, the lake is much bigger and deeper than what it appears to be. The trek on the first day is about 20 km, following the Chandra River upstream. Trekkers are bestowed with the site of the huge riverine island known as Samudra Tapu, which becomes one massive block of ice in winters. Night camp is near the Topko Gongma River. Second day begins by fording the ice-cold stream at 7:00 am. The early start is to reach the next, much bigger stream (Topko Yongma) by noon as later on it gets too tough to cross with the glacial melt. Camp is on a bluff overlooking the river at a height of 15,500ft (4724m). Third day’s trek is gentle and much more enjoyable. Navigate through panoramic pastures, and stop by in between to admire and photograph the stunning beauty of the Bara-lacha la glacier on your left (west side). This glacier is the source of the Chandra River. Finally, after six hours of a fulfilling trek, reach the Bara-lacha la Pass at 4950m/16240ft. The pass is situated in between along the Leh-Manali highway and you can always catch a vehicle from here back to Manali. It is amongst the most unfrequented trek of the region, yet immaculate and jubilant. The trek is preferred by the ardent trekkers, those who want to see the Nature real close. The trek brings out the wide range of Himalayan flora and fauna, meandering streams vast open grasslands to a spectacular heightened pass elevating 11,800ft. Dhana Kunnu Pass trek lies in backdrops of Kullu valley making its approach a bit demanding. The trek starts from the ancient village of Naggar, treading on a rough road to a beautiful setting at Matakochadi, an attractive place of broad vista and impressive surroundings. The immaculate canopies seen through the dense forests en route, cool breeze hitting at ones face and streams flowing ominously are the incredible site to be. The route gives one a pure chance to observe and understand the diversity of Himalayan Ranges, Himalayan flora and fauna. The trek takes one from lower dwellings to wild forests to alpine pastures, which becomes shorter as one hikes up the altitude. Finally the route opens up, where there is only miniature foliage with vast landscape and gushing winds around. The top of the pass is full with ecstasy and is splendid with enormous Himalayan ranges and landscapes. Here one can see distant ranges of Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar. After attaining the top a different route is taken backwards towards the point of start. We trek back to the Chandrakhani Pass trail, where we reach at a point called Naya Tapru, an attractive place of highland meadows surrounded by wild trees. Returning down would not be a big deal as the trail is reasonable and impressive.  The trek will fulfill all the aspirations of one’s thoughts of being in the Himalayas and will coincide with expected experience. Tickets can be booked online at www.redbus.in or www.hrtc.gov.in Tip : Since Delhi Manali is a long journey most Volvo private buses leave Delhi between 5 pm and 6 pm. The last govt bus leaves at 8.30 pm from ISBT Kashmere Gate. Volvo buses charge between Rs.1,000 to 1,400 per sector from Delhi to Manali and vice versa. Manali to Delhi: Like the onward journey, buses leave from Manali to Delhi between 4 and 5 p.m. Your tentative arrival at Delhi may be anywhere between 6 a.m and 10 a.m. Plan your onward journeys only post noon giving enough buffer for bus delay. How to reach Naggar: From Manali, Naggar is 18 km. far and there are multiple buses running in every 15 minutes or one can get off at Patlikuhal which is 5 km. far from Naggar on the right bank highway. Patlikuhal lies in between of Kullu Manali. You can club a taxi or travel by a local transport from Manali or Patlikuhal to approach Naggar.   Nearest Railway Station:- Nearest Railway station is Ambala (350 kms) and Chandigarh (310 kms). Tip: Regular Volvo and Buses are available from Chandigarh to Manali in the evening. Volvo buses charge between Rs.800 to Rs.1,200 per sector from Chandigarh to Manali and vice versa. Nearest Airport :- Nearest Airport is Bhuntar is 60 Kms. ​Bhuntar, which is 52 km away from Manali, is the nearest airport. Taxi services are available from Bhuntar to Manali, which costs about Rs.1000‐ Rs.2,000. Bhuntar is well connected to Delhi by air. The airliners that take you to this Airport are Indian Airlines, Kingfisher airlines, MDLR Airlines and Jagson Airlines, operating flights from Delhi and Chandigarh to Kullu.

Dev Ropa Trek Dev Ropa Trek is the one of the most unfrequented trek amidst the majestic Himalayan Mountains. The irregular trek to the interiors of Chandrakhani Pass will leave one speechless by seeing rich Himalayan Flora and Fauna, highland meadows and ultimately to the vast fields of Dev Ropa. The trek brings all kind of adventures that one would expect being at the Himalayas. The great isolation splurged in the deep nature for few days would impact one with pure respect towards Mother Nature.  Dev means God and Ropa is descent, meaning descent of the God. The place of Dev Ropa is as similar as the name suggests. The extensive flatlands at Dev Ropa are as big as the multiple football grounds with several tiny torrents meandering aside. The picturesque trails during the trek would feel somewhat out of words. This incredible trekking experience starts from the ancient village of Naggar. The trek takes one through picturesque locations of Naggar to the remote village of Rumsu. As trekking higher we pass some of the ancient forests of conifers, Oak, Chestnut, Birch and Walnut. The forests open up the broad vista at some points giving one a chance to capture the beautifulness of the surroundings. The forests will keep rolling along until we reach alpine meadows after Naya Tapru. The vegetation keeps shortening after every distance we cover and at a point all the foliage turns into miniature. Once we reach at Chandrakhani Pass the landscape offers a grand view of mountain ranges seen distantly. Further the trek brings spectacular sites ready to be cherished and explored. The trek is moderately tough because of the altitude rise and the steep terrain en route. It takes about 5-6 days to approach Dev Ropa, which means it is not as easy as one could imagine. Being physically fit is requisite to experience the trek without any distress. Dev ropa is a holy place visited by the co related dwellers on occasions. So being at a holy place would enlighten one with spirituality and peacefulness. The trek is stretched in the INDO Tibetan trade route starting from Kullu to Spiti. The trek is actually a route connecting Kullu valley to remote Spiti valley. It was used by the locals for trade and by the shepherds to transport their livestock into the backdrops of Spiti in summers. Now a day’s frequented by the passionate trekkers to experience the real nature waiting distantly. The trek is meant only for avid trekkers who are looking for an adventure filled trip and are ready to do it. The great thing about this trek is that it takes one from lush green forests to alpine vegetation which is later overcome by the desert and harshness. It brings out the real natural change in the landscape and atmosphere. The varying conditions towering mountain ranges and a perfect pass to cross would fulfill all thoughtful aspirations of a trekker. Initially the dense forests of conifers and the rhododendron trees will keep following us till the alpine pastures arrive. The untouched meadows would lead us to the glacial lake point from where expeditions to Kullu’s highest twin Peaks Papsura (6451m.)and Dharamsura (6466m.)are held. Further trailing up to the Sara Umga Pass located at the height of 4700m. will test all your strength to attain the top. Yet attaining the top is worth when one looks around the extensive mountain ranges. Especially the grand views of central Lahoul  peaks heightening above 6000m. Chandrabhaga range and the Asia’s second largest glacier Bada Shigri can be seen from the top. After the pass route brings out most varied surroundings and atmosphere of Spiti valley. The trek brings the harshness but the route is moderate ahead. The trek ends at a small stopover at Chhota Dara on the Manali Spiti Highway. Overall Sara Umga Pass offers a great time to go through an overwhelming experiences and locations en trek. Opting this trek as a first choice would not let one down only if one is filled with adventure.     Things To Pack :- Trekking Shoes: You need good trekking shoes with good grip & ankle support. Do not carry sport shoes. Clothing: You need to have warm clothes with three-layer jackets, fleece or down feather jacket. Carry 1 or 2 full sleeves t-shirt. For lowers carry cotton pants suitable for trek. Do no carry jeans or shorts for trekking. Thermals: Carry top and bottom thermals. Socks: Carry 2 - 3 pair of sports socks along with woolen socks to be worn at night. Headlamp/Led Torch are mandatory Sunglasses: To protect from sunlight in snow you require UV rays protected sunglasses. Woolen Cap and Gloves are also necessary as the climate will be cold. Carry waterproof gloves as they get wet in snow. Lunchbox & Water bottle: Every participant should carry lunch box and water bottle of their own. Raincoat/Ponchos: At high altitudes, snowfall and rain are quite common and it’s mandatory to carry a poncho so that one doesn’t get wet. But the airport is inconsistent. One can travel via Volvo bus from Delhi to Kullu. There are few Volvo bus who travel direct to Kasol. A lot of people take bus/taxi from Bhunter to Manikaran. Manikaran is just a few kilometres away and local buses are easily available on the main road connecting the town.

This trek is highly popular among the Indian as well as foreign trekkers and those planning this arduous journey this summer season could expect a great expedition ahead. The journey begins from Dhaula in Uttarakhand and concludes at Sangla in Himachal Pradesh and would require you to cross the state border for entering Himachal near Kinnaur. You will start trekking from greener landscapes and as the journey proceeds, these greener tracts would give way to snow patches, followed by the vast snow fields as you head towards Rupin Pass. The trek would become more and more difficult and the weather equally challenging with every progress that you make. Hence, acclimatization, adequate hydration and snow-trekking tools would always come handy. What makes this trek quite special is the wilderness and extravagance of nature in the form of waterfalls, snow bridges and snow fields. It would an experience of a lifetime to stand on the snow bridge with Rupin flowing down below you after falling from a waterfall in front of you. The gushing waters of this river and its tributaries would mark much of this journey.
